bacon bourbon cinnamon nut rolls

After almost two weeks of chest colds, head colds, and stomach bugs running rampant in our house, I am fiiiiiinally back in the kitchen! Oh, how I have missed my usual post and sharing my goodies with you all! Here in Connecticut, we are being buried by loads of snow, so what a perfect day to try out these tasty breakfast treats. While it may be easy and convenient to buy the pre-packaged buns, these are well worth the effort if you have a little extra time on one of those weekend mornings. The layers of simple dough, salty bacon, crunchy hazelnuts, and sweet, sugary bourbon icing make for the perfect dipping companion for that early cup of coffee! Here are the steps for Bacon Bourbon Cinnamon Nut Rolls.

waffled mashed potatoes

My mom called this “the recipe to keep all those new year’s resolutions.” Okay, so she’s a jokester but in this case she’s also right. While you’re being inundated with health-obsessed recipes (and yes, I have some of those coming!), the realist in me is still trying crazy concoctions like this one! To explore one of my foodie trends for 2015, I “waffled” my side dish and the result was delicious! Here’s an enjoyable and easy recipe for Waffled Mashed Potatoes.

delicious brunch french toast casserole

Every summer my family and I take the 5 hour drive to Cape Cod, Massachusetts for vacation. It’s a trek we’ve been making since I was a little girl and it always reminds me of family. With the holiday season just beginning, I thought I’d share a dish that also makes me reminisce about family. This recipe was passed on to me by my aunt who scored the killer secrets from the Moses Nickerson House Inn in Chatham, Cape Cod. The almost 200 year old inn has since changed names, now calling themselves the Chatham Gables Inn and underwent a huge renovation, but we hope they kept this little gem on the menu! It’s the simplest go-to dish for any Sunday morning brunch or Christmas morning treat. You’ll enjoy cuddling up with loved ones while dining on this French Toast Casserole!
