bundt chocolate chip and walnut banana bread

I was lucky enough to taste lots of treats that came from my Great Grandmother’s kitchen. Now I’m lucky enough to continue the tradition of treats with my boys in the kitchen with her original mixer! This was our first time using it to make classic banana bread with a twist. Here’s Luca bear’s (with a little help from mom) recipe for Bundt Banana Bread with Walnuts and Chocolate Chips.

pumpkin spiced french toast bake

Ah, ’tis the season for pumpkin spice. From lattes to linguini, the options are endless. This year I attempted homemade pumpkin spice so I always have some on hand! And odds are, you already have the ingredients in your pantry.

The first recipe? A twist on our family favorite french toast. The original recipe came from an inn in Cape Cod years ago but with a few small changes is transformed into an autumn masterpiece. It’s such a prefect brunch bake since you make it the night before and just pop it in the oven in the morning! 30 minutes later you have this Pumpkin Spiced French Toast Bake.

devilishly good meatless monday eggs in purgatory

This is a devilishly fun dish to start October’s meatless Monday’s off right! Believed to be of Tunisian decent, Shakshouka, or Eggs in Purgatory, traditionally uses Harissa, a paste made from peppers and spices, but mine utilizes smoky cumin and jarred roasted red peppers which are probably sitting in your pantry right now! Serve family style or in individual dishes for a simple weeknight dinner!

A hellish good meal!
